Férias!

E sapatos novos!!! Tão lindoooos! Fiquei andando com eles aqui em casa mesmo, de pijama, hahaha. Que dia bom, sapatos novos, scrap... Fazia tempo que eu não fazia uma pagininha, culpa do TCC... Hehehe.

Finalmente, férias! Natal, Ano Novo... Daqui a pouco formatura!

Favoritas...

Primos à beira da piscina. Falta-me tempo, mas algumas fotos favoritas que depois do dia 10 (dia de entrega do TCC) vão virar páginas de scrap...

Domingo cedo, cantando músicas velhas at the top of our lungs!

Donavon Frankenreiter na Oca. Poucas coisas são tão perfeitas quanto uma música que você ouve no repeat diariamente e finalmente tem a chance de ouvir ao vivo...

Road trip no meu aniversário :)

Brooklin Bridge

Usei todas as coisas que eu comprei na feira! As letras de chipboard da Les Babioles, fita da Scrappin' Up, papel da Les Babioles também (eu acho).

Just a quick, simple one. Used all the stuff I bought at my latest shopping spree at the scrapbook fair.

School is overrated

I didn't go to work today. Gastritis, lack of sleep and a headache kept me home. And from here on is downhill. Thesis, school work, work. Hate it. It's driving me insane. Can't wait to graduate and have a good night of sleep.

My American accent

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Updating

I've been MIA. I know. Things have been hectic, I can't barely sleep because I wake up in a rush like "Oh my god, I have so much stuff to do, I shouldn't be sleeping". But I took guilty time to scrapbook a few pages.

I like that they're really bright and fun. I miss those times.

Another couple of pages

Couple more pages for my Oswego album. I didn't worry much, I was just playing when I did those. They're really simple and fun.
Well, have a good Sunday everyone, I'm off to my aunt's where we're having lunch and then I gotta prepare my seminar for tomorrow's class.

Good food improves my mood

I was cranky the whole morning because of my freaking ugly braces. I was cranky and I didn't to smile not to show them. But then we went to this really good natural place for lunch and I totally stopped being cranky. I was actually holding myself not to smile. It was hard.
For 14 reais (which is like 7 dolars) you can eat all you want. Or all you can. I ate salads, soy meat, lasagna, ice cream, juice... Mmmm, so good! I want to go back there!
:)

Hectic

Sometimes working is really boring, and it gets in the way of relaxing and just chillin. Today we had a really long meeting, which made me stay late. Bummer.
Anyway, the good thing is that this week I don't have classes, only on Thursday. So tonight I get to chill and watch TV, cinema on Wednesday, and Friday's a national holiday. Oh, life is good, sometimes, too!
Oh, there's this scrapbook contest here in Sao Paulo and I'm entering, hope I get to the finalists!
Gonna work on my page this week!

What lies ahead

(click on the pics to make it bigger)
Poopsies. I like that pic, it's so funny, your faces!
The other one is probably my favorite page so far, it's got all my favorite stuff: stamps, paint and Hambly. It's kinda messy, probably why I like it. And I like the pic of me walking. It almost represents me today: kinda messy, going somewhere, but I don't know exactly where. With graduation coming, I have no idea where I'll be in a few months. So uncertain, but I'm excited more than I am scared.
I miss having time to scrapbook, though. And to just chill.

This is happiness to me

Lots of paint in all colors and stamps, lots of them! I've been having so much fun scrapbooking that I'm at work and I feel anxious about playing with all my stuff. Or I'm in the middle of class and I can't wait to get home to play. Except, I can't. I'm working 9 to 6 everyday and, don't get me wrong, I love it. It's just the perfect place, nice people, in the area I want to work and all. But then after work I have to go straight to class, and THAT sucks. Class totally sucks! Except for Friday night classes, it sucks. And I don't have the time to read and prepare for class. I can't wait to graduate!!! It is just so much! I miss having time. I don't have time to cut my hair, do my nails or even see friends, sometimes. I can't wait to graduate!! But I still got six loooooooooong months ahead of me. That's why I got this cute notebook, and did the cute tabs, to see if I get inspired to study, or just to hang in there.

Other than that, I try to scrapboook every free time I get (which means weekends) and these are a couple of pages I made. Those remind me of good times. Gee, life was good and easy back then. I just love soho, I could totally live there. And that night at the Karaoke was so much fun!
Alright, be back with some more later.

Harry Potter

I watched it!!!!!!!!!!! It was the premiere last night and though we decided to go a day after because it would be less crowded, we just couldn't wait! Well, I couldn't. I got there at 8pm for the 9:30 exhibition! So geek! But it guaranteed us the best place, so it was all worth it!
Gosh, the movie is SO good! I can't believe it! But it went by way waaay too fast! I could sit there for another two hours!!
Now I can't wait for the book, and of course I'll want to watch it again! Hehehe.

These make me happy!

These are my cupcakes!!! I think they're pretty good for my first try ever. I had a little help from my mom, but for the most part, I did it! :) The icing was especially good, so yummy and sweet! Next one I'm gonna try to make is the Red Velvet one, and them I'll try playing with different icing colors and tastes.
In the picture you can't see it, but they are not the size of a regular cupcake. We couldn't find they actual tray with the little holes, so just did them smaller. They're mini-cupcakes! I ate like ten of those already! So much for the spa. It goes without saying. Haha.

Cupcakes and Red Velvet

I was watching What About Brian last night and the two girls own a cupcake shop. Now, I never been a fan of cupcakes, but last night I was craving one so bad! All the cute icings and decorations, in all colors possible! I want it so bad! But unfortunately, cupcakes don't exist in Brazil, it's just not a tradition, and I don't know any place where they make them.
And then after that came Grey's Anatomy, the episode where they are trying wedding cakes. And they pick the Red Velvet Cake. Now, we don't have Red Velvet either! I never even tried it, but it looks so yummy!
So I googled it and found the perfect match: Red Velvet cupcake!!! I'll try to make it tomorrow, let's see if anything good comes out of it... I don't even know if we have all the ingredients!

Weekend and some pics

This photo is from the spa! So relaxing, I love to just lay in these things and swing until I fall sleep!

Weekend was really busy. On Friday we ended up going to this bar/club but it wasn't that good, we just had fun 'cause all of us were there. On Saturday, though, we went to this club called Clash which is huuuuge and good music was playing. We were dancing all night long until 6 am, then we went to a diner to burgers as breakfast. Before the club, though, we went to this typical Brazilian party called Festa Junina with lots of typical food, music and games. The best part about being June/July and cold is going to these parties. You can find one every weekend! And the food is just delicious.
On Sunday we had our traditional Sunday lunch out. Went to this churrascaria (a place where the waiters keep bringing all kinds of meat and you eat all you can) to celebrate my cousin's graduation. Can't wait for the graduation party in August!! :)

Back home

I barely came back from the spa and I already miss the nature and the peace & quiet. Traffic noise annoys me, pollution annoys me and the sound of the telephone ringing annoys me. I was never too much of a fan of phones, I just hate the sound of them ringing. But Paolo Nutini is my ringtone now, so it's not so bad.
Laure sent me an e-mail that cracked me up. Need to send her something.
I guess we're going out tonight for somebody's birthday. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Going on a little vacation...

I'm going away for a week, for some spa holiday, hihi.
Hope to lose some weight, read a lot and get some scrapbook pages done.
You all take care and have a great week!

Freelancer!

Yay! Tomorrow I don't get to sit around all day! I got some freelancer job! They need some help at my friend's job to set up for an event next week, do follow-ups, that kind of office stuff. Boring, yeah. But it pays, and it keeps me busy. And better something than nothing. So yeahhhh, I couldn't be more excited to wake up at 7 am! Haven't done that in so long!
And then afterwards we have to work on our thesis (for graduation). That means hanging out, eating and chatting. All the girls are going, yay :)
T.G.I. Friday!

Wedding and palindromes

This last Saturday was my cousin's wedding and all my family from the Northeast of Brazil was here. That kept me busy! We would take them to parks, museums, restaurants, etc. All things they don't have up there and we do. All things big cities have instead of landmarks and beautiful landscapes. We basically drove a lot and ate a lot. Traffic is insane here.
The Wedding.
It was so gorgeous. It was beautiful, my cousin was beautiful, I loved her dress. The buffet decoration was the most beautiful I've ever seen. All in pinks and browns. And every little detail worked together. (Oh yeah, the candies were sooo good). We had too much fun! Took too many pictures! Hehehe. It was so much fun that by the end lights were on and we were still dancing and drinking, we didn't want to leave.
Now they're in Paris for their honeymoon, how cool is that? I want to get married! Hihihi.

Now on to the palindromes. Sus, the most famous one (I think) and the only one I know by heart is: Socorram-me, subi no ônibus em Marrocos. It means "Help me, I got on the bus to Morocco". Cute, right? Here's another one "Ame o poema" which means "Love the poem". Even cuter.
I found this list, take a look: http://br.geocities.com/site60aki/palindromos.html
Have fun!
I also found those two in English, have u seen these before?
"Cigar? Toss it in a can, it is so tragic"
"Madam, I’m Adam"
Hihihi love those!

Scrapbooking

As Patty would say it, I've been playing with my scrapbook lately...
I am doing the Oswego album. Since it was a whole semester, it's probably gonna take me a while 'till I finish, but here are some pages I've done so far.
This one is about the Lake Ontario.

Just a detail.

This one has a list of songs that remind me of Patty. The ones she used to play frequently.

This is for Susan and Patty's 21st birthday!

This is about SUSHI!! Hahaha, actually, it's about the best meal we had there (considering we ate at Cooper everyday...).

Hope you enjoyed it!

Some pics to get this started...

This is just part of my (big) family. It was last Sunday when we went to this restaurant where they have all kinds of food. Lots of food, actually. And you can actually buy any furniture in the restaurant. It's kinda outta town, but totally worth the trip. It was a nice sunny Sunday. :)

This was last Friday at a bar where we had a happy hour due to the holiday (Thursday and Friday). The extremely cold weather is gone and now we're back to 60s winter! Fuck yeah! :) So nice out. Oh, this is Ce, me and Miguel.

This is me and four of my best friends. They were the ones I missed the most when I was gone. From left to right: Ce, me, Fe, Pri and Carol. In this pic we were at the graduation barbecue two Saturdays ago. It rained the whole day and it was chilly but that didn't stop us from dancing and laughing and drinking. By the end of the day we were soaked to the bones.

Starting this

Alright, I always had a blog for as long as I can remember (since I was 14 if I remember well) and I went through all those phases: blogging a lot, not blogging at all, etc. But this time is for a special reason: to keep in touch with loved Oswego people.
I'll try to post what life in Brazil has been like and what I'm up to. Some pictures, songs and scrapbook pages too!
Oh, another thing: hey Susan! :) This is for you! Hope you like it.
